SIMPLE DESIGN & DECORATION IN MY HOME

I have been in my new apartment for just over six months and it is finally starting to look like a home…

It is not 10% ready but it is getting here. A lot of our furniture came from Ikea, but we have started to invest in a few pieces elsewhere; my favourite being this sideboard from La Redoute. I have actually gotten a few pieces from La Redoute, their homeware game is just as good as their fashion game. Someone stop me before I end up spending a fortune on this website!

I would like to say that our home (Lee’s and mine) is a mixture of us. The majority of the artwork is Lee’s (he’s an amazing artist!) with a few prints from Not On The High Street. I love having my magazine collections on show; I have been collecting Vogues since 2014 every month to present time. I also think it is important to have fresh flowers on display, you cannot go wrong with Marks and Spencer for a affordable bunch of flowers, however to really splash the boat out I like to order from Bloom & Wild.

Candles are also perfect, simple object that can turn a house into a home. I love The White Company, their Autumn and Winter candles are divine! Throws also make a home look instantly cosy- the one in the pictures above is from oh course, La Redoute.

Other features that I really love about my home is the mixture of textures, particularly in the living room. From light wood, plants and wool; I like how it gives a space that extra little touch. Other things are objects that bring back memories; I have collection of magazines that are either special editions (such as the vogue with Kim and Kanye on the front) or one that I have picked up from the country I have visited. I have ones from Thailand, France, New York and Jordan to name a few; all these are just so much better than pictures in a frame. There is also a cheeky little camel from Jordan; he just adds a little extra to my desk situation.

My favourite places to shop for my home are Oliver Bonas, The White Company, La Redoute, Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie to name a few. Quite frankly I could spend hours trolling over Pinterest, home magazines and interior design websites, I just love having such a big space that is my own that I get to set up, design and decorate to make into a home.

For now home is take a back set, just while we get Christmas and the wedding out of the way. Once all sorted, it will be back to decorating and I would like to say an apartment tour will be available towards the Sumer 2017. Let me know if you would like either an individual room tour or a whole apartment tour or both; you decide as the readers.
